In each Dalcroze class, I give a short warm-up at the beginning. The focus is usually on some kind of movement technique, and I often use the warm-up to provide an introduction to the musical subject of the day (for example beat and division, syncopation, simple triple meter, etc.). Of course, movement happens throughout a eurhythmics class, and some of the items are core movement objectives that we aim to visit and refine throughout the year.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills and experiences associated movement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Execute any kind of locomotor movement with grace and ease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>move isolated parts of the body with ease<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>change between\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>isolated parts of the body to whole body movement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>top half and bottom half of body<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>symmetrical and asymmetrical positions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>move\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>with spatial awareness\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>hi\/low\/front\/back\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>using oppositions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>of pathway\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>curvy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>straight with quick turns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with different lengths of stride<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with awareness of the room and the group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with spirals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with awareness of how joints articulate in the body<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with expansion and contraction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>vertical vs horizontal space<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Releasing isolated parts of the body vs. activating parts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Figure 8 in different planes (horizontal, vertical, sagittal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using body weight to push, roll, turn and tumble across the floor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using gravity to create momentum (e.g. with swinging arms)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use hands and feet separately and simultaneously in simple ways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use gesture to express a wide variety of tempos and dynamics, in place<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>move effectively\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>independently<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with a partner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in small groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with the whole group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create and remember sequences of movement (up to 5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"taxonomy-post_tag wp-block-post-terms\"><span class=\"wp-block-post-terms__prefix\">For more lists see: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/joviala.com\/jovialaworks\/tag\/1st-2nd-grade\/\" rel=\"tag\">1st-2nd grade<\/a><span class=\"wp-block-post-terms__separator\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/joviala.com\/jovialaworks\/tag\/children\/\" rel=\"tag\">children<\/a><span class=\"wp-block-post-terms__separator\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/joviala.com\/jovialaworks\/tag\/curricula\/\" rel=\"tag\">curricula<\/a><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The focus for this list is movement.
